What should be noticed before forging heat treatment?

The inspection of forgings before heat treatment is the pre-inspection procedure for the finished products specified in the forging drawings and process CARDS after the completion of the forging process, including their surface quality, appearance dimension and technical conditions.Shellfish inspection should pay attention to the following aspects:

(1)The appearance of forging should be free from cracks and defects such as rust, oxide scale and bruising which affect the quality of heat treatment.

(2)The forging diagram should indicate the main dimensions, special shape parts, different section parts, shape and position of holes.

(3)The dimension and precision of the parts to be treated shall indicate the machining allowance, surface roughness, dimension precision, position precision and shape precision, etc.

(4)Inspectors can spot check the underpressure quantity according to 10%-20% of the batch number of forging heat treatment. When the batch of forging conforms to the drawing, they can enter the inspection procedure.Forgings inspected before quenching should be stored separately.

(5)To check the rack of finished products before quenching, 1-2 pieces of forgings (folded and cracked waste products cannot be used for sampling) shall be put into the rack for sampling, and the word "sampling" shall be marked on the rack to show the difference.

(6)After inspection, the finished product quantity, repairable waste quantity, final waste quantity and defect code should be accurately filled in the accompanying card and signed by the inspectors.
